Objectives: The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 Advancement of Education To advance education for the benefit of the public by means of, but not limited to, the provision, promotion or facilitation of educational activities, programmes, workshops, training courses, seminars, lectures, exhibitions, conferences, study circles, mentoring initiatives and other learning opportunities as the Trustees may determine from time to time. 4.2 Advancement of Religion To advance religion for the benefit of the public in accordance with the Islamic faith, by means of, but not limited to, the provision or facilitation of congregational prayer, religious instruction, marriage and funeral services, pastoral care, and other religious activities, conducted in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as understood within the interpretations and accepted principles of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah, and in compliance with the laws of Scotland. 4.3 Provision of Recreational Facilities and Activities To provide, or assist in the provision of, recreational facilities and to organise recreational and social activities for the benefit of the public, including individuals and families, with the aim of improving physical, mental and social well-being. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, lunch clubs for older people, youth engagement activities, family support programmes, and mother and toddler groups. 4.4 Relief of Those in Need To relieve poverty, financial hardship, distress or suffering for the benefit of the public, particularly among disadvantaged individuals and families, by means of, but not limited to, the provision of grants, loans or material assistance, or by assisting in the provision of essential items, equipment, services and facilities, including food, clothing and other necessities. 4.5 Promotion of Community Integration and Cohesion To promote community integration, cohesion and mutual understanding for the benefit of the public by supporting and facilitating the positive integration of the Muslim community within Scottish society and culture, encouraging participation in civic life, fostering respect for shared values, and building strong, inclusive relationships between people of different backgrounds, faiths and cultures, with the aim of creating a united community founded on mutual respect, compassion, integrity and social harmony.
