The charity is set up to provide teaching and undertake performance of pipe band music for the benefit of the wider community. The teaching takes place in the town of Haddington, East Lothian and performance events are undertaken across East Lothian and Central Scotland.

Objectives: The organisation's purposes are the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and community development by: Promoting and encouraging the playing and enjoyment of pipe band music in East Lothian. Providing a service to the wider community by making available pipers and drummers for suitable community and other events. Striving for musical excellence, including using external expertise where appropriate, by exploring new methods and technologies and, subject to the agreement of members, participating in competitions.
