The Sustainable Nitrogen Foundation undertakes and supports scientific research associated with biological nitrogen fixation and its use in agriculture to reduce the use of harmful nitrogen fertilisers and to improve crop yields. The Foundation is particularly concerned with the development and use of biological nitrogen fixation in crops grown by small-holder and subsistence farmers.

Objects: To Advance Environmental Protection Or Improvement For The Benefit Of The Public By Carrying Out Scientific Research Into Biological Nitrogen Fixation And Publishing The Useful Results, With A View To Securing Outcomes In The Mitigation Of Greenhouse Gas Emissions And Water Pollution Derived From Nitrogen Fertilisers In Agriculture.
