Activities
REMA is the infrastructure organisation for the BME voluntary and community sector in Rotherham. REMA is a membership organisation whose work and activities are directed by its affiliated members groups, increasingly by BME communities in Rotherham and local government policy. Our role is to develop the capacity of service providers, to better meet the needs of the BME communities.
Objects: 3.1 To Promote The Effective Use Of Charitable Resources In Particular But Notexclusively For The Benefit Of The Minority Ethnic Communities Of Rotherham By:3.1.1 Co-Ordinating And Supporting Both Existing Charitable And Noncharitableagencies That Have A Common Goal Of Providing Charitableservices To Minority Ethnic Communities;3.1.2 Liasing With, And Acting As A Forum For The Exchange Ofinformation Between Such Organisations And Statutory Agencies Inorder To Identify Service Gaps And Priorities For Minority Ethniccommunities By Providing A Range Of Charitable Services .3.1.3 Ensuring The Organisational Development And Inclusion Of Suchorganisations With Policy Makers And In Service Providers .3.2. The Promotion Of Equality And Diversity For The Public Benefit By Raisingawareness And Promoting Activities To Foster Understanding Between Peoplefrom Diverse Backgrounds With A View To Strengthen Community Cohesion Andreducing Racial Inequality.the Primary Area Of Benefit Is Rotherham. The Secondary Areas Of Benefit Arethe South Yorkshire Coalfields, South Yorkshire Sub-Region, Yorkshire Andhumber Region, The United Kingdom And Europe.
