Durness Parish Hall SCIO was established to provide and maintain Durness Village Hall, community facility, for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Durness and the surrounding area, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. The charity manages and maintains the hall and makes it available for hire by community groups, organisations and individuals. Through the provision of this facility the charity supports social, recreational, educational and cultural activities which promote community participation, reduce social isolation and contribute to the wellbeing of the local community. The trustees are responsible for the governance, maintenance and sustainable management of the hall.

Objectives: The organisation's purposes are: a) To manage, maintain and develop the building of Durness Parish Hall and its grounds for the use of the inhabitants, community groups and visitors to Durness without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. b) To improve the conditions of life within the community by providing facilities for recreational, cultural and community-centred activities. c) To advance education, citizenship and community development for the inhabitants of Durness.
