In 2023, a community-wide consultation resulted in an Action Plan summarising the needs and wishes of inhabitants. Stracathro & Inchbare SCIO was established to implement these findings. Work is in three themes: Community and Recreation, Environment and Heritage, and Access to Services. Ten agreed key Actions develop these themes. The immediate need was to secure the future of the much-loved 200 year-old Stracathro Parish Kirk which would replace Inchbare Village Hall as a space and centre for community activities. Donations were raised to purchase the Kirk, which completed in March 2025. Other activities include identifying Trustees, estimation of renovation works, and starting a business plan to guide future actions and needs. The SCIO plans many activities fulfilled by volunteers. These include a community garden, improved access to sites of local heritage, an events programme based in the former kirk, and work to improve local services.
