Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of education','the advancement of health','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

The House of Hope exists to improve the quality of life for anyone in Scotland affected by breast cancer — whether that is someone who has received a diagnosis, is going through treatment, or is living with the after-effects of the disease. We also support the families and loved ones of those affected. We do this by operating Scotland's first dedicated breast cancer support and wellbeing centre, based in Edinburgh. Away from clinical settings, we provide funded access to a wide range of wellbeing services including fitness classes, holistic therapies such as oncology massage and aromatherapy, nutrition advice, peer support groups, and community drop-in sessions. We also offer specialist support for specific groups, such as those living with secondary breast cancer and younger women. Where someone cannot meet the cost of our services, we use our Hope Fund to ensure financial barriers do not prevent access.

Beneficiaries: 'People with disabilities or health problems','Other defined groups'
