Borders Community Action (BCA), launched on 1 April 2023, is the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for the Scottish Borders. The creation of BCA followed a review by the Scottish Government of the region’s previous partnership structure. In June 2023, we submitted a draft strategy to the Scottish Government, laying the groundwork for a new, bold approach to supporting the third sector locally. Over our first two years, Borders Community Action has experienced remarkable growth and development. At the heart of this progress has been the voice and involvement of our members. Through meaningful engagement, they have helped to identify priority gaps and shape a series of impactful initiatives. Among these are the Community-Led Planning Pilot, the Third Sector Employability Programme and the Village Halls Project. Each has secured dedicated funding as a part of a coordinated approach and delivered tangible results, addressing real needs in our communities.
