Objectives: The organisation's purposes are: a) the advancement of citizenship or community development for autistic people living in the Scottish Borders to improve understanding, acceptance and meaningful inclusion of autistic people, including collaborating with policy makers and services, to provide evidence-based information and represent the views of our members. b) the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, which meet the needs of the members of the autistic community in the Scottish Borders, improving inclusion and reducing social isolation. c) the promotion of equality, diversity and autonomy of autistic people within the Scottish Borders by working in partnership with other local bodies, local and national government, businesses and wider public, participating in and/or running community engagement activities. d) the relief of those in need in the autistic community by fostering connection, inclusion and opportunities for peer support, including many who are disabled and experience other disadvantages by providing accessible and practical support to autistic people both pre and post diagnosis and those who self-identify as autistic, including training autistic advocates, with the aim of promoting equality and highlighting the diversity of experiences of autistic people.
