We are a charity and professional membership organisation for Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) professionals and our vision is to improve the health of the nation though physical activity. We are dedicated to advancing education, health and science. We do this through exams, education, curriculum, training and accreditation. We set standards and establish clinical standards and best practice to benefit both healthcare professionals and their patients. We support and develop our medical specialty of SEM which is aimed at improving the health of people and populations. We also seek to improve the health of the nation through physical activity is led through our Moving Medicine initiative. This helps healthcare professionals support people with long-term conditions to move more. The programme provides free evidence-based, practical resources that support healthcare professionals to help patients live more active lives.
Objectives: The organisation's purposes are the advancement of education, the advancement of health, and the advancement of science, through education standard setting, training, development, and promotion of the fields of sport, exercise and musculoskeletal medicine aimed at improving the health of people and populations.
