'the advancement of education','the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science'
The MAaD Pipe Band promotes interest, education and participation in piping and drumming and therefore enabling the enrichment of the cultural lives of the general public of Mallaig and Ardnamurchan with Scottish traditions, music and culture. We create and establish regular performance opportunities in and around the local community. We encourage people to have the opportunity to learn to play the pipes and drums and to be a part of the band. The band will be able to plan, programme and arrange activities on its own initiative, or with other local musical, arts and educational societies and organisations. The direct benefits include a good standard of musicianship attained by members of the public and band. These benefits will be demonstrated through the participation of tuition and practice organised by the band as well as feedback on the enjoyment and approval of the general public on listening to public performances.
