| To promote excellence in orthopaedic and trauma care in Scotland for the benefit of the people of Scotland and global health. To support inclusion, diversity and equality within the specialty of orthopaedics in Scotland. To be a forum for discussion between the consultant surgeons (including locums) and specialty grade doctors working in orthopaedics and trauma in Scotland. To respond to requests for information on matters relating to orthopaedics and trauma in Scotland from the Scottish Parliament. To particularly consider professional practice and service provision, including clinical governance and quality issues, but also to act as a forum for discussion of issues in education and training (whilst recognising that the responsibility for these elements lies with other bodies). To support ongoing service development in collaboration with Scottish Orthopaedics Service Development Group (SOSDG). To act as a central reference point in data collection, both for staffing and workload (with projected changes), and to act as an umbrella organisation for structures such as a Scottish Arthroplasty Register. To link with partner organisations including the British Orthopaedic Association and NHS Education for Scotland. |

Achievements and performance
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period |
During this period, SCOT successfully arranged and held the 2023 Summer Conference and the 2024 Winter Conference. Arrangements were also made for the 2024 Summer Conference which took place after the year end. Keynote speakers included (Neurodivergence in Medicine, Summer 2023) and President of the British Orthopaedic Association (Winter 2024). Shortlisted orthopaedic trainee research projects were also presented and judged at both meetings. |

Financial review
Brief statement of the charity’s policy It is the object of the charity to maintain reserves at a level that ensures on reserves the day-to-day operations can continue and that liabilities can be met. Details of any deficit Donated facilities and services (if any) All trustees of the charity are volunteers and donate their time freely.

Other optional information
Future plans SCOT will organise and run the 2024 Summer Conference and 2025 Winter Conference. We will continue to liaise closely with orthopaedic trainees to support their education, specifically with a training day during the 2024 Summer Conference. We will continue to promote close ties wit ues in the rest of the UK, with keynote speeches fro esident, BOA) at the Summer conference, an future-president BOA) at the Winter conference.
