Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of education','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended'

The group’s aims are to empower women by developing their self-confidence and self-esteem and to encourage them to realise that they can take action singularly or collectively to confront the elements of their lives that they would like to change. We also aim to support women to become actively engaged in their local community, by joining other groups or community organisations, taking advantage of training activities and pursuing further education. As an organisation we want to enable women to identify and value their skills, experience and talents and feel able and confident to share these with others. We provide a safe and secure place for often isolated women to visit and spend time away from their domestic / professional space. We facilitate training courses such as sewing classes, mental health, first aid, breast and bowel cancer awareness, suicide awareness and reiki etc. Holding social and cultural events throughout the year for members.

Objectives: The organisations purposes are: 5.1 To provide a recreational facility or organise recreational activities with the aim of improving the conditions of life for whom the facility or activities are primarily intended. In furtherance of the aforementioned charitable purpose, Tea in the Pot will be responsible for the coordination, management, promotion and development of a drop in service that provides information and helps women to link in with other sources of appropriate information and advice as required. We will also coordinate and deliver recreational activities. 5.2 The advancement of citizenship or community development. In furtherance of the aforementioned charitable purpose, Tea in the Pot will support and encourage integration and promote diversity to enable the empowerment of women and to prevent them from becoming socially excluded. We also actively promote the voluntary sector where appropriate, as other sources of support and provide volunteering opportunities to enable our women to develop and share their skills and build their confidence and self-esteem, allowing them to play a full active role in their community. 5.3 The advancement of education. In furtherance of the aforementioned charitable purpose, Tea in the Pot will facilitate the delivery of practical learning activities, both formal & informal, allowing participants to up skill and gain formal qualifications and (or) certificates, as well as gaining practical knowledge that will improve their health & wellbeing.
