The charity was founded to increase public understanding and knowledge of the natural and cultural heritages of Clackmannanshire and its environs. to help protect and improve them, in part by providing a range of opportunities to experience them and also by encouraging investigation of and research into them. The Committee held five meetings during the year to plan the programme to help achieve these aims, attend to other matters and discuss local planning applications. We arranged three summer outings, one within the county and the others in Falkirk and Stirlingshire. We held an AGM and 11 indoor events and lectures on four local, three regional and four national themes. These were attended by a total of 443 people, both members and non-members. The Society also participated in the Doors Open Days event on 27th September, opening Alloa Old Kirkyard and the Mar & Kellie Mausoleum, welcoming and providing guided tours for 82 visitors. Our events were all publicsed.
