| The initial Trustees were the individuals who signed the charity trustee declaration forms that accompanied the application for incorporation of Pet and Companion (PEACE). They are therefore deemed to have been appointed by the members as charity trustees with effect from the date of PEACE’s incorporation (20.09.2016). The board may at any time appoint any person to be a charity trustee by way of a resolution passed by majority vote at a board meeting. Allister Crompton was appointed as such on 1st June 2018. |

| The charity’s purposes are: Primarily: the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages. Secondary purpose: the advancement of health. Secondary purpose: to provide spiritual support, if requested. |

| PEACE provides Canine Therapy along with Pastoral Care to people in need of support and companionship, particularly: the elderly; patients receiving palliative care; students during stressful periods; and adults affected by homelessness and abuse. The therapy dog provides a comforting presence and helps create a relaxed environment and a positive distraction. The Pastoral Carer is there to offer support and companionship to the person being visited, and is happy to talk through any difficulties the individual may be going through. |

During its ninth year as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, PEACE has: • expanded its support groups to include men affected by homelessness and abuse; • delivered nearly 2,000 PEACE sessions to vulnerable individuals in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders; • recruited and trained additional PEACE Teams, including the first male PEACE Team; • made school and nursery visits to talk to the children about ‘people who help us’. |

PEACE’s reserves’ policy states that the charity will endeavour to retain between 3-6 months’ worth of running costs at all times. |
