||The initial Trustees were the individuals who signed the charity trustee<br>declaration forms that accompanied the application for incorporation of Pet<br>and Companion (PEACE).  They are therefore deemed to have been<br>appointed by the members as charity trustees with effect from the date of<br>PEACE’s incorporation (20.09.2016).<br>The board may at any time appoint any person to be a charity trustee by<br>way of a resolution passed by majority vote at a board meeting.  Allister<br>Crompton was appointed as such on 1st June 2018.||

||The charity’s purposes are:<br>Primarily: the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability,<br>financial hardship or other disadvantages.<br>Secondary purpose: the advancement of health.<br>Secondary purpose: to provide spiritual support, if requested.||
||PEACE provides Canine Therapy along with Pastoral Care to people in<br>need of support and companionship, particularly: the elderly; patients<br>receiving palliative care; students during stressful periods; and adults<br>affected by homelessness and abuse.<br>The therapy dog provides a comforting presence and helps create a<br>relaxed environment and a positive distraction.  The Pastoral Carer is<br>there to offer support and companionship to the person being visited, and<br>is happy to talk through any difficulties the individual may be going<br>through.||
