Jhankar Beats SCIO is a Scottish charity established to promote health, wellbeing, education and social inclusion through arts, culture and community engagement. We support people of all ages, particularly those from ethnic minority communities, older people, children, young people and families who may experience isolation or barriers to participation. We deliver regular programmes including traditional and contemporary dance, music, healthy cooking, physical activity, youth development, heritage projects and volunteering opportunities. We work in partnership with local organisations to provide safe, inclusive spaces where people can learn new skills, celebrate cultural diversity, improve physical and mental wellbeing, build confidence and strengthen community connections. Through our activities, we aim to reduce isolation, encourage active citizenship and create a more inclusive and connected Scotland.

Objectives: Purposes The organisation’s purposes are: The advancement of the arts, heritage and culture through staging public exhibitions, giving presentation and/or performances for the public to raise awareness of the history and traditions of Indian classical music and dance The advancement of Education through the teaching of the art form and style of Indian classical music and dance, raising the artistic standards of the art form and by providing educational programmes to the public. The advancement of Public Participation in Sports through organising indoor and outdoor sports activities for the public to raise awareness of improving physical health and well-being. The advancement of Health raises the values such as fairness, team building, equality, discipline, inclusion, perseverance and respect. thus contributing to the development of soft skills needed for responsible citizenship.
