Activities
'It carries out activities or services itself'
'the prevention or relief of poverty','the advancement of citizenship or community development','the advancement of environmental protection or improvement','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'
Spruce exists to provide a viable alternative to dealing with post manufacture flooring that is considered surplus to requirement and so destined for landfill. This diversion activity also aims to ensure as much material as possible is repurposed for sale as reuse floor coverings, often to low-income individuals, thus providing both social and environmental benefits.
Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'
Objectives: To promote the welfare and relieve the needs of those in the community who have been recently homeless and others in the community in financial hardship by the provision of floor coverings that will help, such people sustain their tenancies. To promote the welfare of those in society who have experienced homelessness by offering meaningful volunteering opportunities, thereby increasing their self-confidence and skills. To provide training for unemployed people that will increase their chances of becoming employed or self-employed. To educate the public in the benefits of environmental protection through the re-use and recycling of existing resources.
