FTHETR ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE As you will see from the top of this page there are two names the Tain & DRstrict Youth Café YMCA and Tain & North Highland YMCA SCIO. The reason for this is thar in 2021 the Board of management undertook a Governance review and decided to change from an unincorporated Charity to a SCIO. The reasons was three fold.. Better protertlon for Board members and a redurtion ofc05ts re extra trustees Insurance being required. That the old name of Tain & Distritt Youth Café YMCA v￿S no longer a rèflertion ot the work we underrake and the wider area we covered. Jlnd That some trusts did not know where Tain was so by adding North High]and increased our chances of securing fundin However whllst OSCR accepted our request for becoming a SCIO on the 15th De￿mber 2021 due to no fault of our own it has taken the Bank of koddnd 15 months to open a new Bank account fi)r us. This finally happened at the end of March 2023. The majority of this report will be reflerting on the work of the Taln & Dtstrlrtyouth Café YMCA Charftsble acdvldes The Tain Youth Cafe YMCA operates a tombination of Drop In Nights and rogular weekly programmes for Lhildreni young people and Famllles. It 5s through the progrnmme slde of our work that we are able to meet our key objectives as a small local charity. Over the last year we focused our work on the our mission ststement of 'Rele￿fing the potentlal of all Chlldren. Young people and Famllles wlthin our communlty. We were part of a joint bld to the Highland Counal for funding of our holiday support programmes dnd these continue to be our busiest period of the year. We have now extended this prO￿amMe to include nol only providing free meals but also provide more children's and youth aLtivities. This a150 helped the families by reducing their cxpenditure over the seven weeks of the school holidays. There were more programme5 thi5 year lor those'Disadvantsged Group5. We continue to provide a balance of issue based clubs and drop In sessions and these target groups have been identified by the needs of young people. for example Monday.. Under I's group, Crafty Club. P7 TrdDsitions aub and a separate gÉrls group Tuesday: Sl Drop In and Boxing Fitness trnining Wednesday: Toddlers group Baking club. the youth committee and awarts group Thursday: SI-S6 Drop In Good2 grow group. Friday.. under I's group and a Yoursg Carers ￿ollp for both primary and secondary thildren Saturday: SI-S6 Drop In The family centre continues and has grown in providing contart time for chlldren and thelr parents and this is through the loixl Care and I￿arning Servit&

The awards work continues to produce some amazis)g children and young people who are undertalang voluntary work within the area. We along with Youth Highland have seen an increase of 64% in young people gaining national awards and therefore we are helping dosing the attainment ga Two newer programmes included fvnding for a Warni Hub which ran for 4 months avjd vras then followed by a new Additional Need5 Group for adults which now runs every Thursday afternoon. The Additional Needs Group for children still meets once a montlL Programmes also continue using the YMCA Holistic approach of Body, Mind and Spirit with programmes like the Quest pro￿arnMe pri)duced by Youth For Chrisv being suceessfill. The Senior Youth and Community worker regularly took school assemblies in Tain Royal A￿derny School. We were successful in obtsining further funding for the Awards worker as part of a wider progrdmme run by Youth Highland and the sessional post to support Girls/ Young WomeTL We received the second instslment from trusts for both the Childreh aJ)d Families Worker and the Senior Youth and Community Worker. Our Involvement with the community orgAnisations are slowly returning and we sUPPOrted the food fe8tival and the rnonthly Community markets. We continue to have a positive worklng relationship w5th Hlghlife Highland althougb the this is mainly through the lo￿1 Youth Development Officcr for the ar Our Senior Youth and Communlry Worker plays a part on the new Tain Campus 3-18 school Stakeholders Group and we are members on the Tain Initiative Group AND Christian outreach Group. We have strengthened our partnership with Youth Highland and we are jointly working with them and the Highland Council on Youth work withln the are& This year we offered more volunteer support and arranged addltlonal trdinlng for volunteers in Child Protection and First Aid. Our thanks go to the volunteers and staff of the Tain Youth Cafe YMCA lor all their help over the year and to all those who have supported the work we undertake within the community espe¢ially the funders Children In Need Robertson Trusl the Davld and Aver51 Macdonald Fund and the Ilighland Council. The priority for 2023124 is to strengthen the Board and recruit more volunteers to help with our expanding progTammes and as we head into the final year of salarles secure these for the two full time stsff. We have also adopted the Visinn 2030 document by YMCA Europe and the Board and staff are working through this together and working on recommendations on how we can improve the Tain and North Highland YMCA SCIO ThTS year we have secured grants for the holiday provlslon which f211 in the next financial year which will make this yeaffs look healthy and nexEYea￿S not so as this money will be spent ! The Board would like to thank all those trusts who have supported us throughout the year especially The Highland Council, The Garfield Weston Trust and the David and Averil MacDonald Trust Foundation Scodand To all the others we say a Big thankyou foryour SUPPOTL
