This included an aspiration to see the book on Hew LoTim¢r's life and work by Kate Eustace complete(L to continue the focus on the work of Professor James Lorimer aDd to progress our WO on the Lorimer Women. Our ADnual Lectures in Summer 2025 Emma Jnglis, National Trust Curator on interiors with a particular interest in textiles. Her lecture 'Daffodils that come befor¢ the swallow dares. was a¢¢ompani¢d by a tour of the textiles at Kellie Castle and enhanced by the experiences of Monica tA)rimer whose childhood was spent at Kellie. For our Autumn Lect[e in October 2025. Colonial Legacies and Hidden Lives.. Sir David Patrick Chalmers, JoaDna Herbert. and the Lotim¢r Connection in BTitish Guyana. The first presentation by Rod¢rick Westtll whose postgraduate studies focus on Sir David Ch&lmcrs. Sir David and his wife Alice Lorimer liyed for matty years in the fornier British Guvan& vtheff he was one of the longest serving GovernoTS. Dr Juamita Cox stM)ke aboui the history and statlls of people of colour, particularly women, and the experiences of Guyanese nursemaid to the Chalmers children, Johanna Herbrt who moved to Scotland with the famil}, and who was later ried in an Edinburgh churchyard. We havt added Previously unknoNvTh paintings by JH Lorimer (or unknoiTrD whereabouts) to our record and have responded to numerous enquiries about the Lorimer famil> s works.
