Activities

'It does none of these'

'the advancement of education','the advancement of citizenship or community development'

Our Squadron is a diverse and inclusive youth organisation, sponsored by the Royal Air Force, and is keen to embrace opportunities in Air, Space and Cyberspace. We provide focused activities and experiences in flying, gliding, sport, adventurous training, drill, cyber skills and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme. The cadet academic training programme is linked externally with the SQA. We encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force but there is no obligation to join the Services. The skills that cadets gain can help them with whatever they want to do in life be it civilian or military. We seek to encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship. That includes being able to communicate clearly, work as a member of a team, enhance social skills and accept diversity. Training is provided by our suitably qualified subject matter specialists. All staff at the Squadron both uniformed and civilian, are unpaid volunteers.

Beneficiaries: 'No specific group, or for the benefit of the community'

Objectives: The purpose of the Squadron Association (‘the Association’) is to fully support the squadron commander to further the objects of the Air Training Corps (‘the ATC’) as contained in the Schedule to the Royal Warrant as amended from time to time but in particular to support activities which foster the spirit of adventure amongst the squadron’s cadets and develop their qualities of leadership and good citizenship.
