The Centre’s core objectives, as outlined in its governing documents, are to promote the welfare of older people by facilitating collaboration between individuals, statutory bodies, and voluntary organisations. Central to this mission is the operation of a community-based social centre, with ongoing financial support from NHS Highland, together with grants, donations and benefits in kind, remained essential to the Centre's continued operation and delivery of community health and wellbeing services throughout the financial year. In addition to its regular services, the Centre serves as a designated emergency hub. Staff can be mobilised independently or at the request of emergency services to provide support during road closures, utility outages (planned or unplanned), local crises, or severe weather events—offering shelter, warmth, and assistance to those in need. The Centre also delivers vital Outreach services during emergency events.

Objectives: 3. The company's objects are specifically restricted to the following The company has been formed to promote the benefit of the public within Dunbeath and district (South East Caithness geographical area) by - i) The relief of those of need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage by promot ing the welfare of older people, by being inclusive, encouraging health and well being and actively being more socially inclusive and enhancing their quality of life by supporting older people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. ii) Make available vocational and non-vocational courses to meet the need and demands of the community, by providing premises, equipment and the teaching necessary to facilitate courses aiming to raise the skill levels of the community to meet the challenges of an ever changing world. iii) Work and collaborate on an ongoing basis with a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals to promote health and well being within the Community, endeavouring to advance health and health education to those most in need. iv) Provide shelter and comfort to persons exposed to extreme weather conditions, personal calamity or situations rendering these persons vulnerable and helpless. at these times of special need having suitably qualified staff and volunteers available. v) Create, encourage and maintain public interest by providing a link between the Centre and the community which it serves, work closely with other Community organisations. Encourage and use volunteers whenever and wherever possible, developing Community capacity and citizenship through these endeavours. vi) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational facilities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. vii) Such other similar charitable purposes as the company from time to time determines.
