Relationships Scotland -Family Mediation Highland aims to establish and maintain healthy family relationships following parental separation or family breakdown through the provision of: Mediation service to improve communication, reduce conflict and support parents to agree on practical, workable arrangements for the future, taking into account children’s views, needs and feelings. Children & Young Person's Counselling Service to help children to better understand their situation, cope with their emotions and enable them make positive choices. Contact Centre Services for children (where appropriate) to re-establish and maintain a relationship with the parent they no longer live with. The central concept of a child contact centre is to offer a safe, friendly, neutral, child centred environment for children to meet with their non-resident parent or family member. Parenting Apart information sessions to help parents with the process of supporting their children through separation.

Objectives: Subject to that over-riding qualification, the company's objects are:- (i) To offer a range of services including family mediation, child contact, neighbourhood dispute resolution and other relevant support interventions to assist and support families and individuals through separation and other situations of crisis and conflict. In particular to (a) offer services to children and young people, parents, step-parents, grandparents, adoptive parents and others in the extended family circle who require support during family break up or conflict and (b) offer services to individuals who require support during neighbourhood disputes or other conflict. The company also aims to (a) assist families to find amicable solutions to problems and issues raised by separation and / or conflict and (b) assist individuals to find amicable solutions to problems and issues arising from conflict. (ii) To promote a comprehensive and co-ordinated community service in the Highlands designed to meet the special needs of such persons referred to at Article 3.1 (i) above and to provide mediation and counselling with the objects specified at (a) above. (iii) To promote and encourage co-operation with and amongst and support for courts, statutory and voluntary bodies and all organisations and individuals involved in any way with such disputes. (iv) To work and campaign for the understanding and improvement of the rights and interests of such persons referred to at Article 3.1 (i) above persons. and (v) To promote and encourage research into and study of matters connected in any way with these objects
