Dumbarton District Women's Aid supports women, children and young people who are/have experienced domestic abuse by providing refuge, follow-on, outreach, counselling and advocacy services. This enable them to become empowered and regain a sense of control over their lives and recover from trauma. We provide emotional and practical support both in refuge and in the community.

Objectives: The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: 4.1 To provide temporary refuge facilities for women and any accompanying children where the women have suffered abuse in their home or other forms of male abuse 4.2 to provide support and information to women and any accompanying children (experiencing domestic abuse where they are refuge residents and also to support and provide information to women and any accompanying children who do not require refuge or where refuge or where refuge is not appropriate). 4.3 to promote the rights of women and to advance citizenship, particularly for women 4.4 to promote and provide services to support the educational and emotional needs of children whose mothers/carer's receiving support 4.5 to promote the issue of abuse of women, its causes and prevention
