SESKPA was formed in 1979 with the object of promoting support to Renal patients and their families and their families to help improve their quality of life. SESKPA represents patients and their carers from the area served by Lothian Health Board and Borders Trust. SESKPA provides an essential support network to Renal patients, as well as newly diagnosed patients, at all stages of the frightening and worrying journey through diagnosis, treatment and care ..The Association is made up of members who have been diagnosed with Kidney failure or have family members who suffer from it. SESKPA endeavours to act in liaison with hospital staff concerned with members of the association and with other organisations which will benefit it's members and further the objectives of SESKPA. which also includes supporting initiatives promoting Organ Donation.
Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people','Older People','People with disabilities or health problems'
Objectives: To promote welfare and relieve the needs of renal patients and their families in such ways as are charitable in law and thereby improve their quality of life. In furtherance thereof but not otherwise the Association shall seek: a) To assist in the provision of facilities not otherwise available from the National Health Service or any other statutory body in the areas covered by the Association. b) To form a liaison between the Association and the hospital staff concerned with Association members and to liaise with any other organisation which will benefit the members and further the objectives of the Association. and c) To support initiatives promoting organ donation.
