To promote good horticultural practice by holding meetings, organising speakers, arranging visits to gardens in and outwith the surrounding area, donating bulbs, plants etc to schools and community groups, holding plant sales and an annual flower and vegetable show where growers can compete.

Objectives: To promote good horticultural practices by: (a) Educating the public, and especially young people, in the benefit to society generally and themselves to be obtained from horticulture. (b) Holding regular meetings for lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. (c) Holding horticultural shows and competitions. (d)Establishing a lending library of horticultural books, magazines and videos/DVDs (e) Establishing visits to gardens and other sites to observe gardening practice. (f) Fostering relationships with other organisations having similar aims.
