Activities and Maln Achievements A programme of fundraising and social events is drawn up by the management Committee each year, These include.. Monthly evening lectures with outside speakers from September to May. Spring and summer flower shows where members and non members can submit their produce for judging. Plant Sales - one major and several smaller plant sales where homegrown vegetable plants, homegrown house and garden plants and home grown sweet peas are donated by members and sold to boost our income. Annual Christmas social event with horticultural quiz, A succession of raffle events at our meetings and at the annual flower show. Sharing of seeds amongst members, Garden day visits and residential horticultural holidays. Annual School Bulb Growing competition fully nded by the society. Annual Tattle Challenge - potato growing competition for all ages Attending (sourcing, plantinglwatering) flower tubs at Helensburgh Central Train Station. Helensburgh & Gareloch Horticultural Society tyIPu* Trustee Report 2026 Reserves Reserves were built up in the Covid year when subscriptions were paid but no events were held. Since then some of our reserves have been used to buy a new container to house our equipment, to make improvements to the allotments that we tend and to invest in much needed omputer equipment.
