To provide grants for educational needs to young people under 25 and resident in the Lakes Parish, and to the voluntary schools (and to academies that were formerly voluntary schools) in the Lakes Parish. Grants may also be given to groups or organisations where the members satisfy the age and residence requirements. Considerable aid is given to young people with special needs.

Objects: 1)the Provision Of Special Benefits, Of Any Kind Not Normally Provided By The Local Education Authority, For Any Voluntary Schools And Academies That Were Formerly Voluntary Schools Serving The Area Of Benefit, With Preference Being Given To Voluntary Schools And Academies That Were Formerly Voluntary Schools Within Ambleside2)in Promoting The Education (including Social And Physical Training) Of Persons Under The Age Of 25 Who Are Resident In The Area Of Benefit And Are In Need Of Financial Assistance.3) Any Surplus Income May Be Applied For The Above Objects In Patterdale Ward And Former County Of Westmoreland.
