Charity Name: People against Plastic Pollution
Charity Registration Number: 06937789
Overview of the Charity
Remove plastic pollution from marine environment.
Reporting Period Highlights
During 2023 – 2024 Reporting period we removed 1.9 tons plastic from West Cost Scotland
Activities and Impact
Removal of plastic pollution from marine environment.
Beach cleaning on the west coast of Scotland. Collecting 1.9 ton of plastic, with the help of 16 volunteers / trustees.
Impact Assessment
The impact that activity will have is high locally, but given he scale of the global plastic pollution crisis, viewed in that context the impact would be negligible.
We continue to remove at least 1kg of plastic for every £1 donated via the donate button on our website; this year metric was for 2kg/£1. This target applies to donation received via our website, where that pledge is made.
Financial Review
We spend most of our money on transport and fuel.
Reserves Policy
We do not hold reserves.
Future Financial Plans
Overview of the charity's financial plans for the next year or more
Governance and Management
Details can be seen on Charity Commission Webpage.
No changes since last year, we would like to have a more diverse cross section of trustees.
Risk Management
We need to improve this. Main risks are physical injuries, such as twisted ankles or back injuries from lifting. We have a risk assessment for this but it needs updating.
Staffing
No staff are paid. No staff hired. No sub-contract staff. All labour provide don voluntary basis.
Future Plans
Continue to increase value for money.
Funding Strategies
Continue to attract donners. Sell items we find on the beach. Apply for grants.
