Accounting policies

1. Accounting convention

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

2. Incoming resources and expenditure

All incoming resources are included in the statement of income and expenditure, when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.

Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs relating to the category.

3. Taxation

The charity is exempt from tax on charitable activities.

4. Fund accounting

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.

5.Depreciation

Depreciation is calculated to write off each tangible fixed asset over its expected useful life by annual instalments , applied on the reducing balance basis.

6. Going Concern

At the time of approving the financial statements the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the Trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
