Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para 1.17	The British Somali Medical Foundation (BSMF) is a voluntary group of UK-based Somali medical students and doctors. It was first founded in 2018 with the aim of providing a networking platform for its members and to facilitate collaboration on youth and community outreach events. The BSMA is committed to helping address the healthcare challenges facing the UK Somali Community.

Widening participation – BSMA scholars programme and Access2Medicine courses. The BSMF worked on widening participation projects by providing support to aspiring medical and dental school applicants from widening participation backgrounds. This has helped promote diversity and inclusivity in the medical and dental fields.
