The British Somali Medical Foundation is a charity focused on -Supporting and advocating for the physical and mental health needs of the British Somali Community. -Supporting widening participation in medical school education particularly from the British Somali Community.
Objects: 1. The Relief And Prevention Of Sickness And The Advancement Of Health Of The UK Somali Community By Supporting And Advocating For The Physical And Mental Health Needs Of The Community. Including, Without Limitation, By Providing Information, Advice And Advocacy For Healthcare Related Issues And Organising Workshops, Conferences, Seminars And Lectures To Educate Community Members On Pertinent Healthcare Topics Designed To Contribute To The Advancement Of Health.2. The Promotion Of Equality And Diversity Within The Healthcare Sector For The Public Benefit By Encouraging And Enabling Students From The British Somali Community And Other Bame Groups To Apply To UK Medical Schools. Including, Without Limitation, Providing Advice And Guidance To Young People Throughout Their Application Cycle Through Mentorship, Seminars And Workshops.
