Activities
To promote for the public benefit the efficiency and effectiveness of the voluntary sector in North Northumberland and the surrounding rural areas. Provision of office accommodation and networking services to the voluntary sector within the former Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Objects: To Promote For The Public Benefit The Voluntary Sector In North Northumberland And Surrounding Areas In Particular By:(i) Building The Capacity Of Charitable And Voluntary Organisations Operating Within The Area Of Benefit And Providing Them With The Necessary Support, Information And Services To Enable Them To Pursue Or Contribute To Any Charitable Purpose; And(ii) Promoting, Organising And Facilitating Co-Operation And Partnership Working Between Charitable And Voluntary Organisations And Statutory And Other Relevant Bodies Within The Area Of Benefit.for The Purposes Of This Clause, 'The Voluntary Sector' Means Charities And Voluntary Organisations Defined As Follows: • Charities Are Organisations, Which Are Established For Exclusively Charitable Purposes In Accordance With The Law Of England And Wales. • Voluntary Organisations Are Independent Organisations, Which Are Established For Purposes That Add Value To The Community As A Whole, Or A Significant Section Of The Community, And Which Are Not Permitted By Their Constitution To Make A Profit For Private Distribution. Voluntary Organisations Do Not Include Local Government Or Other Statutory Authorities.
