The Elgar Festival engages in fundraising activities in order to support an annual music festival celebrating the life work and music of Edward Elgar. The Festival comprises of several separate events featuring high profile performers and aims to be inclusive. All events are either free or low cost. BAME and female composers of Elgar's generation are a feature of the Festival. |

Para 1.20 | Due to covid restrictions, the 2021 festival was held over from the planned period in June until October. The three day festival included included recitals, concerts, talks and exhibitions. With the easing of restrictions the 2022 festival was planned to revert to the traditional time of early June. |

ELGAR FESTIVAL APPENDIX TO THE ANNUAL REPORT FOR YEAR ENDED 31ST MARCH 2022 - FINANCIAL REVIEW The 2021 festival was held in October. during the half term. Thls had been delayed from its usual time of the weekend nearest to Elgarfs birthday. usually the first weekend in June, due to the Covid pandemic, having been cancelled in 2020 altogether. The 2022 festival retumed to its usual slot The festival was supported by a grant from the kn Council of £23,175 as well as Local Authority grants amounting to £10.5 and private income from trusts and foundations of £6,OCKI. The festival is very appreciative of these grants and donations. Total income was £51,086, which includes sales of tickets and programmes. total cost of putting on the festtval was £47,115. which includes artists, the orchestra, venue hire and other associated costs. Re8pon8iblliti08 and ba818 of the Y•port As trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordan(x th the requirements of the Chanties Act 2011 ('the Act,). I raport in respect of my examination of trustees, accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in Garying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commissioners und&r section 145(5)(b) of the A Indopendent Examln•Vs Statsm•nt I have completed my examination.
