Activities

The Mount Elgon Foundation seeks to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Mount Elgon on the Kenya-Uganda border. Our initial focus is to support the Mount Elgon Elephant Project that aims to protect the Elgon cave elephants and mitigate human-elephant conflict. It includes funding the development of sustainable livelihoods. Other projects will be supported when funding is available.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO, Being Undertaken For The Public Benefit In The Mount Elgon Region And More Widely In The Republic Of Kenya And The Republic Of Uganda, Are:the Conservation Of Endangered Elephants And Their Protection From Extinction In Particular, But Not Exclusively, By Providing Financial And Other Aid To Support Programs With The Objective Of Protecting, Monitoring, And Advancing The Conservation Of Those Elephants.to Further Other Such Exclusively Charitable Purposes, Which Are Charitable Under The Law Of England And Wales, As The Trustees May From Time To Time Determine.
