Para 1.17 | The objects of the Mount Elgon Foundation, being undertaken for the public benefit in the Mount Elgon region and more widely in the republic of Kenya and the republic of Uganda, are: 1. the conservation of endangered elephants and their protection from extinction in particular, but not exclusively, by providing financial and other aid to support programs with the objective of protecting, monitoring, and advancing the conservation of those elephants; and 2. to further other such exclusively charitable purposes, which are charitable under the law of England and Wales, as the trustees may from time to time determine. |

Para 1.20 | The difference the Foundation’s work has made to its beneficiaries was to provide protection to the elephants of Mount Elgon and to commence support for sustainable livelihoods for local people. As regards benefits to society as a whole, the preservation of the ecosystem of Mount Elgon, given its key water tower role and large forested areas, is the provision of water to many millions of people regionally, while carbon sequestration by the forest provides an important benefit to the world wide community. |

Charlty number: 1186668 Re5 onsibilities and basis of re ort I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the year ended 31 March 2024. As the charity trustee5, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 20111"the Art"). I report in respect of my examination of the charlS accounts carried out under settion 145 of the 2011 Att and in carrying out my examinattson, I have followed all the 3pplicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515llbl of the Act.
