the Ar�s�c co-Directors, both of whom are
Trustees. Logis�cal ma ers, including publicity,
applica�ons to suppor�ng organisa�ons, etc.

responsibility of the Fes�val commi ee, all of
whose members are volunteers.

Volunteers also make a significant contribu�on to the Fes�val, both in terms of Front of House ac�vi�es (�cket/programme sellers, stewards, etc.) and set-up and clear-up for the concerts The management commi ee of the Fes�val Other consists of the trustees, and sundry other volunteers with specialist skills, such as marke�ng/promo�on and technical ability.

from September 21stto September 24th2023.
‘A Peaceful World’- a youth singing project,
involving the par�cipa�on of approximately 200
young people from 8 local schools. Admission to
this event was free, but dona�ons were invited,
the proceeds of which were donated to a local
charity.
A concert by a leading ska-folk fusion band.
Piano recital by an amazingly gi9ed local young
pianist.
A concert by Classico La�no, a group ofering a
fresh perspec�ve on the music of La�n America,
combining classical and folk music from across
the region.
A performance of music by JSBach and GFHandel
given by the Hexham Abbey Fes�val Chorus and
Orchestra.
A Candlelight Concert by The Gesualdo Six,
performing music to celebrate the 400th
anniversary of the composer William Byrd.
In addi�on, the Fes�val programme included
two church services, a Choral Evensong and a
Choral Eucharist, led by the Choir of Hexham
Abbey.
The Fes�val welcomes many visitors to the town
of Hexham, thus benef?ng local businesses and
contribu�ng to the town’s aims in promo�ng
tourism.
