Providing low cost white goods to the disadvantaged in the Barrow-in-Furness, South & West Cumbria areas, being based in Central Ward in Barrow (the 23rd most deprived district in England). Extra discounts are given for those on benefits & pensioners. We work with local groups to better assist those in need. We offer training & work placement opportunities to the long term unemployed.
Objects: (A)to Promote For The Benefit Of The Public In The Area Of Barrow-In-Furness, South And West Cumbria The Preservation And Protection Of The Environment By Recycling Unwanted Domestic Appliances And Other Household Commodities.(b)the Prevention Or Relief Of Poverty In Barrow-In-Furness, South And West Cumbria By:(i)the Sale Of Recycled Unwanted Domestic Appliances And Other Household Commodities To People On Low Incomes, And;(ii)the Provision Of Work Placement, Training And Volunteering Opportunities To Economically Disadvantaged People Or People In Poverty To Assist Them In Returning To Work Or Gaining Employment.
