HELOA's main purpose is to support prospective students to access higher education, thereby advancing education in all subjects offered at degree level. HELOA provides training and development opportunities to its higher education institution members and, through its events and newsletter, acts as a network for sharing best practice.

Objects: The Object Of The CIO Is For The Public Benefit To Advance The Education Of People Within The United Kingdom In Such Ways As The Charity Trustees Think Fit, Including (Without Limiting The Generality Of The Foregoing) By:promoting Entry To Higher Education;supporting Higher Education Providers In The Provision Of Information And Advice Services To Students (Both Current And Potential) And Their Families;providing Training And Knowledge Sharing Opportunities For Higher Education Providers.
