One of the great things about gig rowing is the variety of events. races arKI adventures open to us, both in the UK and overseas. Club policy is that all regattas identified as apKYoptiate opportunities by th• Club's Committee, are open to our whol8 m8mbership. wthin this calendar, there were a number of dub 'prionty' CPGA regattas, roughly one month over the spring and summer. For these, there was a concerted effort to have larg8 club presence, wrth scheduled training rows and logistics arranged by predetermined regatta leaders. For 2024, these events were: Saturday 6th Maroh: Three Rivers, Saliash. Comwall. Tim Russ represents th8 Club at Saltash rowing in A Barbarians crew. Fnishad in 59 minutes 45 sec. There were 98 gigs and 198 crews Frlday 2nd4th May 2024 Att•nd8n at Worfd Pllot Glg Champlonshlps at Isl•s ol Scllly. Cornwall.. Ladies Ow Place 107, Men's Open Placed 128, Vots Men placed 32, Vets Ladies placed 30. Saturday 8 Jun• R•gatta. We ran our own Regatta at Richmond. Brixham, Lewes PG Club. Lyme R8gis and Thames BbarianS attended. Congratulations to Thames Barbarians on their win Saturday 6th July S•aford (N•whav•n): Men's Crew Men's B. Sunday P July Brlxham R•gatta: Men's and Ladies Vets battled hard at very choppy event. Men's crew 4 , 13 secs behind the wnrers. Saturday 1•1 S•rknmb•r. Rowhodg• SEGL R•gatta at SIfv•Twlng Lak• Wraysbury: Men won the CFOGA four oared gig race. The women won the RBBC round the island race at Richmond. Saturday 21" S•pt•mb•r: Great RNer Race. I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts for London Cornish Pilot Gig Club (“the charity”) for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
- accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or 2. the accounts do not comply with these records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
