Charitable Incorporated Organi&gtion (CIO) on 27 Nov 2018.
The Club pres8nts its seventh financial statements as a CIO for the year ended 31
Dec8mber 2024. The decision was made to fomi a CIO primarily to tak8 advantage of the
separate legal p8rsonality and limited legal liability. particularly for trustees.

Since fomatton and membership of the sports governing body. tho Comish Pilot Gig
Association ICPGA), in January 2018, The Club has grown substarrtially in membgrship
each year unts'l 2020-2021 when Covid-19 imparted on membershlp.
It is the primary goal of The Club to offer rowing actNities to benefft physical and mental
health as ￿￿11 as a strong arKI indusive communty atmosphere for its members. The Club's
main adivities have remained the same in the year to 31 December 2024.

. Running rowing sessions for the physlcal and mental heatth benefft of
members of the club.
. Providing opportunitses arKJ training for members lo comtth in gig rowing
races.
. Providing development opportunities to members induding training to become
a Competent Gox.
. To grow the club membership and r8a¢h a wider section of tho London
¢ommunity. to prcwnote physical and mental heallh.
. Working wth and improving partnerships with oth•r rowing arvj water-based
clubs.
. To promote the sport of gig r<A¥ing more generally.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Summary of th• maln aGhl•v•m•nts of th• Charity durfng th• y•ar
We had a fijll season of ￿gatta$ and events. One of the
great things about gig rowing is the variety of events. races arKI adventures open to us,
both in the UK and overseas.
Club policy is that all regattas identified as apKYoptiate opportunities by th• Club's
Committee, are open to our whol8 m8mbership.
wthin this calendar, there were a number of dub 'prionty' CPGA regattas, roughly one
month over the spring and summer. For these, there was a concerted effort to have
larg8 club presence, wrth scheduled training rows and logistics arranged by predetermined
regatta leaders. For 2024, these events were:
Saturday 6th Maroh: Three Rivers, Saliash. Comwall. Tim Russ represents th8 Club at
Saltash rowing in A Barbarians crew. Fnishad in 59 minutes 45 sec. There were 98 gigs and
198 crews
Frlday 2nd4th May 2024 Att•nd8n￿ at Worfd Pllot Glg Champlonshlps at Isl•s ol
Scllly. Cornwall.. Ladies Ow Place 107, Men's Open Placed 128, Vots Men placed 32,
Vets Ladies placed 30.
Saturday 8 Jun• R•gatta. We ran our own Regatta at Richmond. Brixham, Lewes PG
Club. Lyme R8gis and Thames B￿barianS attended. Congratulations to Thames Barbarians
on their win
Saturday 6th July S•aford (N•whav•n): Men's Crew Men's B.
Sunday P July Brlxham R•gatta: Men's and Ladies Vets battled hard at very choppy
event. Men's crew 4 , 13 secs behind the wnrers.
Saturday 1•1 S•rknmb•r. Rowhodg• SEGL R•gatta at SIfv•Twlng Lak• Wraysbury: Men
won the CFOGA four oared gig race. The women won the RBBC round the island race at
Richmond.
Saturday 21" S•pt•mb•r: Great RNer Race. One crew fielded.
Saturday 191h Ootober Poolo Glg Rogatta: 7km and 2k swint

Social events- Jun6 Regatta. Sept8mb8r GRR after-party. Christrnas Party.

FINANCIAL REVIEW 2024
The Club generatod income of £27,149 for the year {2023 - £26.432), sold assets for £1,500
(2023 - £1,500) and had expendtture of £29.022 (2023 - £28.177). geneth'ng a loss for the
year of £373 (2023 -loss of £1.745).

The Club has continued to keep a reserve of £1.0(YJ
Th8 Club continues to retsin 3 months. rent {£2,250) as an additi.onal reserve to meet thls
financial commitment, should ther8 be any casmlow issues in the future.
Plans for th• futur•
The Club will continua to provide physi(xl and mental health benefits and a strong
communty atmosphere to its members in both East and West London.

## **Independent examiners report to the Trustees of London Cornish Pilot Gig Club** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts for London Cornish Pilot Gig Club (“the charity”) for the year ended 31 December 2024. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or 2. the accounts do not comply with these records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
