Trustees’ Annual Report for the period

From 1st May 2021 To

30th April 2022

Charity name: BabyBank Network Isle of Wight

Charity registration number: 1179382

Objectives and Activities

SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 The prevention or relief of poverty on
the Isle of Wight by providing items and
services to families with young children
and/or to charities or other
organisations who also work to prevent
or relieve poverty amongst families with
young children. As well as aiding the
difficult transition of having a new
family and providing an improved living
environment, these measures will
reduce the financial burden on families,
leading to a subsequent improvement in
their mental well-being, lower anxiety
about caring for their child, an
increased ability to focus on other
aspects of home life and making
positive choices for the whole family.
Providing safe and clean equipment
alongside warm,suitable clothing will
also contribute to the health and safety
of the baby.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
BabyBank Network Isle of Wight
redistributes high quality baby items like
clothes, slings, cots, high chairs, and cloth
nappies that have been used and loved by
parents, but are no longer needed, to
parents who cannot afford to buy these
items new or second hand. We work with
agencies based in areas of deprivation and
organisations that are in contact with
vulnerable families to make sure that they
are provided with items ensuring their
babies basic needs are met. Once a month
we hold a donation drop off and allow
referrals to come in via email as and when.
On receipt of a referral we match items or
source accordingly. Once completed a
referral we arrange collection by the
professional to pass on to the family. We
completed a High Sheriff application to
support our cause and have worked
regularly at our unit

Statement confirming Para 1.18 whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit
