Activities

The Basement Door (TBD) is a charity which advances the education of young people, aged 13 to 22, by providing training and experience through live music events. Young people learn new skills, gain confidence and make connections, through The Basement Door community. The skills they develop whilst working with TBD help them secure employment.

Objects: Charitable Object: Educationto Advance The Education Of Young People Up To The Age Of 22 In And Around The Greater London Area, Helping Them Develop As Individuals And Members Of Society Ready To Enter The World Of Work, In Particular, But Not Exclusively, (i) By Providing Training And Work Experience In The Areas Of Catering, Hospitality, Event Management And Teamwork To Young People Who Volunteer On A Regular Basis To Run Live Music Events, (ii) By Providing Training To Young People Interested In Musical Performance And/or Aspiring To Work In The Music Industry Including (but Not Limited To) By (a) Providing A Platform For Them To Rehearse And Perform, (b) Offering Guidance On Performance Techniques, (c) Providing Work Experience (in Collaboration With Local Colleges) For Aspiring Sound And Lighting Technicians And (d) Providing Access To Professional-Standard Technical Sound, Recording And Lighting Equipment. Charitable Object: Young Peopleto Act As A Resource For Young People Up To The Age Of 22 Living In And Around The Greater London Area By Providing (i) Recreational And Leisure Time Activities In The Interest Of Social Welfare, (ii) Organising Programmes Of Social, Educational And Other Activities With A View To:(a) Developing Their Capabilities And Improving Their Conditions Of Life;(b) Developing Their Skills, Capacities And Capabilities To Enable Them To Participate In Society As Independent, Mature And Responsible Individuals, Who Are Also Capable Of Working As Part Of A Team;(c) Advancing Education;(d) Helping To Relieve Unemployment; And(iii) Providing Advice And Assistance In Relation To Item (ii) Above.
