Welcome to our AGM Meeting 2022/2023

You are all welcome to Hexham Community Association AGM for 2023. Hexham Community Association brings together residents from the Hexham Estate and North Whitley area, charities and the local authority to work together to help to improve education opportunities, and carry out activities for the welfare, recreation and leisure for the people who live in the local area. The local area is recognized as an area of deprivation and need. The association is run entirely by . volunteers and undertakes activities from the Hexham Community Centre The Committee

Achievements and challenges

During the past years (2021/2022 the activities of Hexham Community Association were seriously affected by COVID 19. However, from April 2022 the Hexham Community Centre from which the organization operates was fully open with no restrictions in place. The Centre is fully functional All weekly users of facilities are now using the facilities on a regular weekly basis. Achievements:

Platinum Jubilee Celebration

On the 3rd of June 2022, Hexham Community Association organise celebration for the Queen’s platinum jubilee at the Community Centre for the Hexham Community and its environs from 2pm to 6pm. Over 300 people (adults and children) came to the Centre for a drink, food, chart, and fun.

Yoga Lessons

With all COVID 19 restrictions lifted and the Community Centre becoming fully operational, yoga lessons were reintroduced once again in the Centre

Challenges

The trustees want to also take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers for the wonderful job they have done over the year.

FUTURE PLANS

  1. Extend programme to Staverton Road

  2. Advertising activities of Hexham to the wider community

  3. Getting residents to be more active

  4. Cultural shows

  5. Wellbeing project for over 50s in collaboration with New Life Kingdom International Ministries charity

  6. IT training for the unemployed,

  7. Mental Health and Wellbeing for Staverton Road and Hexham Communities
