They assist, signposting to statutory services form filling and translation support where needed especially for refugees who access food hub. Volunteers helped in cooking warm meals for refugees placed in local hotels with no cooking facilities using the surplus foodwehavefrom foodredistributiondays. |

Para 1.20 | We have managed to have a steady flow of food redistribution supplies from supermarkets and organisations such as local wholesalers , food redistribution who donate good quality surplus food that will ordinarily go to waste and we are able to hand that out to families, individuals in our community twice a week Wednesdays and Fridays We now have a core group of trained volunteers who offer their time twice a week to help with food redistribution, chatting ,teaching English welcoming new migrants into the community and signposting community members who attend the foodbank to statutory services . |
We now operate twice a week with the increase in volunteer numbers. Some of our volunteers have been supported to obtain level 2 food and hygiene certificate and cook meals from the food surplus for community members especially those without cooking facilities and those on a low income. .
