Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner As the trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts, you consider that the audit requirement of Section 4: of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)Ib) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of examiners statement My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes the review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the account5. Any expenses are covered directly by the Trustees and are not drawn from the charity's funds. The Trustees annually review the charity's aims, objectives, and activities. The prevention or relief from poverty in Blrmingham and the surrounding area, through the provision of food and basic essential items to individuals in need. 2, The promotion of Social inclusion amongst vulnerable members of the community who are excluded from society because they are unemployed, homeless or who are StruEgling financially, by the provision of advice in relation to houslng, employment and welfare, as well as other areas which the trustees deem fit, 3. In line with our commitment to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of everyone involved, the Trustees enforced strlct safety protocols. All volunteers were required to wear disposable gloves at all times while serving food and assisting the homeless and those in need, This measure ensured the hygiene of the food distribution process and the protection of both volunteers and recipients.
