Objectives and Activities

Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para 1.17	To further or benefit the residents of Iwade and the neighbourhood, without distraction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinion by associating the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and/or other organisations in a common effort to advance education and provide facility in the interest of social welfare for recreation leisure time occupation with the objective of improving community life for Iwade residents. In furtherance of these objects but not otherwise, the charity trustees shall have power; to establish or secure the establishment of a community hub and to maintain or manage or cooperate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and meeting of such a hub for activities provided by the CIO in furtherance of the above objects.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.	Para 1.17 and 1.19	The organisation has continued the management of the community space for the residents of Iwade. The benefits to the public are by providing a public space for use by the local residents including supporting local business people by providing the facility. This has included making the venue available as a meeting space, for leisure space and social events. The trust have run more events for residents.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	This last year, the barn has been running well. We have continued to be able to offer the barn free of charge to community groups, as well as holding our own events to raise funds for the upkeep of the building. We have remained financially stable, covering all costs, but this has only been possible by the trustees volunteering their time to run the monthly micropub, and other events. We have still had a few issues with hirers not looking after the building, and took the decision to no longer accept bookings for parties. This will remain under review. We have taken on 4 additional trustees this year to enable the work of the running of the charity to be spread out among more people, and this has been a successful decision. I believe that we now have the right number of trustees to enable the charity to move forward, to be more organised, and will enable the charity to do more for residents of Iwade than we have been able to do until this point.
