Achievements and Performance
SORP reference Summary of the main The Barn had a slow start to this year. achievements of the Confidence was building with people charity, identifying the beginning to once again book events difference the charity’s Para 1.20 after COVID restrictions had been work has made to the lifted, but there remained concerns as circumstances of its COVID infection rates increased once beneficiaries and any again. Into the New Year and bookings wider benefits to society really began to pick up and by year as a whole. end we were back once again to prepandemic levels.
The Trust’s main focus was ensuring that bookings were coming in and, in turn, income. In January 2022 the build of our new storage facility, Barn 2 commenced, being completed in February and giving much needed extra space for additional storage.
The computer desks were removed creating a lot more useable space for
hirers and has been successful in increasing the usability of the The Barn for people who, in the past, have been unable to use the barn due to lack of space. This has also given business users to increase the amount of people they are able to serve for events they hold. Towards the end of the year the Trust concentrated on looking ahead to what additional events could be run to ensure additional income is generated enabling the Barn to remain free of charge for community groups. With rising utilities costs it is important that income generation is increased to ensure running costs are covered.
