TLM UK was first incorporated in 2015 to support the work of a sister TLM organisation incorporated in Tanzania. These organisations are governed separately but cooperate fully. Both have similar goals.

TLK UK’s aim is to raise funds and support TLM Tanzania by way of specific measurable and quantifiable activities. For example, by funding medical supplies, equipment and support procured and provided by TLM Tanzania.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)

It is our intention that all financial requests for support activities from TLM Tanzania are measurable and are approved by the board of trustees of TLM UK before we supply goods or money to TLM Tanzania.

All trustees are volunteers and have either some link to the medical world or Dr Trish Scanlan or Tanzania. Dr Trish Scanlan has been working as the Medical Director for TLM Tanzania for a number of years.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Their Lives Matter

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Their Lives Matter (the Trust) for the year ended 1April 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Signed:
