OUR PURPOSE IS THE CONTINUANCE AND ADVANCEMENT OF COMMUNITY MEDIA. WE MAINTAIN SWINDON VIEWPOINT, BRITAIN'S LONGEST RUNNING COMMUNITY MEDIA SERVICE, AND ENDEAVOUR TO OPERATE IT AS MODEL OF GOOD PRACTICE IN THE FIELD. WE SUPPORT LOCAL PEOPLE IN THEIR USE OF COMNMUNITY MEDIA AND ASSIST OTHERS NATIONALLY TO THESE ENDS AS RESOURCES ALLOW.

Objects: To Further The Following Descriptions Of Charitable Purposes Set Out In S. 3 Of The Charities Act 2011 By Supporting The Work Of Other Charities And Furthering Such Charitable Purposes Falling Within These Descriptions By Such Charitable Means As The Trustees See Fit From Time To Time:1. The Advancement Of Citizenship Or Community Development; And2. The Advancement Of The Education Of The Publicin Particular But Not Exclusively Through: (A) The Development And Use Of Community Media (Radio, Television Or Other Forms Of Media That Are Created And Controlled By The Community, Either A Geographic Community Or A Community Of Identity Or Interest) With The Aim Of Encouraging Community Cohesion, Volunteering And Social Inclusion For The Public Benefit And (B) Preserving And Protecting Historical Community Media Material As An Archive And Making IT Accessible To The Public For Their Benefit.note: Community Cohesion Means Working Towards A Society In Which (A) There Is A Common Vision And Sense Of Belonging By All Communities (B) The Diversity Of People's Backgrounds And Circumstances Is Appreciated And Valued (C) Similar Life Opportunities Are Available To All, And (D) Strong And Positive Relationships Exist And Continue To Be Developed In The Workplace, In Schools And In The Wider Community.
